Stillspace Privacy Policy

1. Overview and Core Architecture

Stillspace is a customizable New Tab productivity workspace featuring local note capture, in-page focus timer, daily priorities, tab workspaces, Browser Memory, project continuity checkpoints, and curated offline SVG wallpapers. The extension does not transmit your personal data to any external server.

2. Information Accessed and Processed

Stillspace only accesses browser data necessary to provide features you explicitly interact with:

• Browser Tabs and URLs (tabs permission): When you choose to stash open tabs into a workspace, restore a workspace, view open tabs in the Workspace Manager, or save a website to Browser Memory, Stillspace reads tab URLs and titles. This data is processed locally in memory and saved to local storage only when you trigger a save action. Stillspace does not monitor your browsing activity in the background.
• Workspaces and Tabs: Workspace names, creation dates, tab URLs, tab titles, favicon URLs, and pinned/muted states are stored locally on your device.
• Quick Notes and Priorities: Text entered into Quick Notes and Today's Priorities is stored directly in local extension storage as you write.
• Focus Timer and Continuity Checkpoints: Countdown timer state, completed session statistics, and project continuity notes ("What are you working on?", "Where did you stop?", "Next step") are stored locally on your device.
• Theme and Wallpaper Settings: Selected theme preferences, typography settings, motion choices, custom accent colors, and custom uploaded wallpaper images (unlimitedStorage permission) are kept in local extension storage.

3. Data Storage and Transmission

All data handled by Stillspace is stored locally on your device using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API. Stillspace does not operate any remote backend server, database, or API endpoint. Your data is never transmitted to Stillspace developers or any external cloud service.

4. Third-Party Services and Network Requests

• No Analytics or Tracking: Stillspace contains zero third-party analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, telemetry frameworks, tracking pixels, or remote scripts.
• Search Queries: The New Tab dashboard includes an optional search bar. When you submit a search query, Stillspace opens the destination URL or standard Google Search (https://www.google.com/search?q=...) directly in your browser. This request is handled directly between your browser and Google; Stillspace does not record or intercept your queries.

5. Removed Features and Historical Disclosures

AI Capture and the floating focus timer injected over arbitrary external webpages have been completely removed from Stillspace. Stillspace does not inject scripts into external websites and does not require or use the scripting or activeTab permissions.

6. Data Retention, Control, and Deletion

You have complete control over your data at all times:

• Deleting Workspaces: Workspaces can be deleted individually within the popup, New Tab dashboard, or Workspace Manager. Deleting a workspace immediately removes its saved tab list from local storage without closing any currently open tabs.
• Clearing Notes and Checkpoints: Click "Clear note" or "Clear" to instantly erase notes and project continuity checkpoints from storage.
• Clearing Priorities: Complete or remove individual priorities, or click "Clear completed" to purge finished tasks.
• Complete Removal: Uninstalling the Stillspace extension through Chrome's extension manager (chrome://extensions) immediately and permanently removes all extension storage, preferences, and cached wallpapers from your device.

7. Chrome Web Store Policy and Limited Use Compliance

Stillspace adheres to the Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies, including the User Data Policy and Limited Use requirements:

• Information accessed through Chrome extension APIs is used strictly to provide and improve the user-facing workspace and productivity features described here and in the Web Store listing.
• Data is never transferred, sold, or rented to third parties, data brokers, or advertising networks.
• Data is never used for creditworthiness evaluation, lending purposes, or personalized advertising.
